PLTD Guide

Follow the procedure for setting up the Optia for a PLTD (WBCD selected). Note program parameters: Inlet speed and current platelet count.
Data: Inlet speed: 60, PLT: 1200, recommend AC ratio: 10. Press calculate and the formula is completed below. Change as needed during the procedure and a new collect pump flow rate is calculated.
Additional Notes:
If the patient is pregnant, an amputee, or has a body mass index (BMI)greater than 30, then you must calculate and enter the appropriate TBV for the patient.
Begin with an Inlet: AC ratio of 10:1. The procedure must be monitored for clumping and the Inlet: AC ratio adjusted accordingly.
High collect pump flow rates may lead to volume depletion, monitor closely. Once procedure is started, change the packing factor to 20 to deplete platelets (press current > target then change packing factor). Higher packing factor results in more platelets being removed.
